Program Overview

The first part of the program takes place , and the students will walk into the local primary and secondary school classes for a one-week transfer. All courses are taught in an English-speaking environment with additional tutoring courses to learn about American life and give students opportunities to improve their English. Their time in the Los Angeles area is supplemented with visits to the University of California at Los Angeles, as well as Hollywood and Universal Studios.

In the second leg of the trip, students go mobile. Following a sightseeing stop in San Diego, students fly to San Francisco where they have an opportunuty to tour Stanford University, as well as understand the campus culture of the school. From there, they visit first-class technology companies in Silicon Valley, to deepen their understanding of both corporate culture as well as product development in high-tech companies.

In Los Angeles, students will visit Hollywood, the Griffith Observatory, and Universal Studios. In San Diego, students will study classic architecture and the characteristics of urban development.

Boston Roundtable is dedicated to providing each student with a quality learning environment. Teacher pedagogy is primarily based on listening and giving constructive feedback. This kind of cooperative learning style helps students to develop a strong relationship between each class and activity, and to better adjust to the rhythm of an American classroom. During the project, we also provide students with a variety of social activities to facilitate positive exchange. Whether it's a surprise excursion or a birthday celebration, Boston Roundtable hopes that students will enjoy the trip!
